In Segment A of Pre-Algebra, students will work with rational expressions, including exponents, order of operations, absolute value, adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing of integers. They will learn to solve one-step, two-step, and then multi-step equations. Lessons will include graphing inequalities and working with percentages, ratios, and similar and congruent figures.

Segment B of Pre-Algebra introduces principles of geometry. Topics include angle relationships, area, perimeter and circumference of geometric shapes, ad volume and surface areas of such shapes as pyramids and cylinders. Students will work with linear equations and slope, as well as explore rules of exponents and scientific notation.
